The End
Moss Gallery
February 9 to March 20
This massive creation by Dutch designer Tord Boontje is the first solo US exhibition of his work, and the final episode of a trilogy based on his exploration of the myths inherent in universal fairy tales. The new work continues his exploration of hand-crafted historical ornament, innovations in textile production, and intersections of craft and industry, mythology and narrative in contemporary design.
The installation, which was designed to the dimensions of the gallery, contains a mix of one-off pieces made by his studio, prototypes for pieces which will soon be in production, and several pieces made specifically for this show. Nearly everything is signed by Tord, and everything in the show is available for purchase.
